I was responsible for re-designing the bill payment experience for the native iOS and Android app. This included everything from research and wireframes to pixel perfect design.
Project background
Sniip is a B2C app that allows billers to send their bills to customers and for the customers to pay and manage all their bills in one single app.
When the app was first launched, the core functionality consisted of the ability to use a custom built scanner to scan QR codes on paper bills and pay using a credit or debit card saved in a 'wallet' within the app. At that time, the UI for the bill within the app and the transaction created from making payments was designed, presented and treated in the same way. As more functionality was added to the bill, it became clear that this approach was no longer viable. Feedback from interviews and customer support had also shown that the payment flow itself lacked some crucial UX aspects, such as proper payment confirmation.
There were also additional requirements from the business to allow products other than bills to co-exist within the app. This further cemented the need to provide new design principles around the existing products.
My role was to update the current app design, to create a UX that could cater to the new requirements and the functionality of the app, as well as to solve the existing user pain points.
